Vote to pass a bill that requires random drug screening for approximately 1/3 of needy persons receiving cash assistance in accordance with Kansas law each year.
Highlight: -Requires cash assistance recipients who test positive for use of an illegal substance to undergo a drug evaluation and if recommended complete an educational or treatment program, and specifies that a recipient who fails to complete a required educational or treatment program shall be terminated from cash assistance (Sec. 1). -Specifies that upon a second positive test, a recipient shall again be required to complete an educational or treatment program, and that upon a third positive test, cash assistance shall be terminated (Sec. 1).
