Title: Amending Clean Water Laws

Vote to pass a bill that limits the authority of the Environmental Protection Agency to impose water quality standards.

Highlight: -Prohibits the Environmental Protection Agency from issuing a revised or new standard for a pollutant for which the Agency has previously approved a state-submitted water quality standard, unless the state concurs with the Agency's determination that the revised or new standard is necessary (Sec. 2). -Requires the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to report to Congress any increase or reduction in waterborne pathogenic microorganisms, toxic chemicals, or toxic metals in waters regulated by a state under this Act (Sec. 6).
